REQUEST FOR INFORMATION POLICY

Resolution 2006

A RESOLUTION OF THE GARDINER SANITARY DISTRICT. ADOPTING A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION POLICY.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Gardiner Sanitary District, that:

  1. The District shall permit inspection and examination of its non-exempt public record during regular business hours in the District's office.
  2. All requests to inspect a public record should be in writing when possible with date, name, address, and signature of the person making the request. 
  3. The request form must contai, the specific records requested, furnishing the dates, subject matter and such other detail as necessary to enable the District's personnel ro readily locate the record sought. 
  4. The District shall respond to all public document requests within five working days or explain why more time is needed for a full response. 
  5. The District shall not create any new documents or customize any existing documents in response to a records request. 
  6. Original public documents may not be taken out of the District's custody.
  7. In order to recover it's cost for responding to public records requests, the following fee schedule is adopted:
Copies of Public Records: Copies of public records shall be at $.25 cents per copy for standard, single-sided, letter size copies.

Research Fees: If a request for records requires District personnel to spend more than 30 minutes compiling a record to meet the person's request, the minimum fee shall be $10.00 per half hour unit, with a minimum charge for one half hour. 

Additional Charges: If a request is of such magnitude and nature that compliance would disrupt the District's normal operation, the District may impost such additional charges as are necessary to reimburse the District for its actual costs of producing records.
